Rain Halts Brownstown Action; Double Consies and Features on April 15

BROWNSTOWN, IN-April 1, 2000- With 144 race cars in attendance and all heat races completed, Mother Nature reared her ugly head and dumped a large amount of rain over the Jackson County Fairgrounds track with the 1st Late Model Consy already on the track, with a couple of laps completed. With rain showers persisting, track officials were forced to cancel the rest of the evening's event. The remainder of this racing card will be completed on May 27, with a regular show for the Late Models, Super Stocks, and Bombers, plus the Consies and Features for all three divisions from tonight's show.

Heat race action produced some quality racing as 48 Late Models were in attendance with the 1st heat being won by Don O'Neal over Audie McWilliams, James Huff, and Dusty Chapman. Richie Hedrick won the 2nd Heat over Timmy Yeager, Todd McKinney, and Shawn Negangard. Kevin Weaver picked up the 3rd heat over John Gill, Mike McWilliams, and Bobby Carrier, Jr. The fourth heat went to Dan Sturgeon over Brad Barrow, Doug Ault, and Terry Eaglin.

Bomber heats saw Matt Cummings over Alan Martin and Roger Richenbacher in heat one, with John Phepls winning the 2nd heat over Ben Burton and Robert Walters. The 3rd heat went to Sam Chastain ahead of Darrell Burton and Jeff Helton. Ray Godsey, Jr. scored the 4th heat over Greg Hicks and Matt Bex. 50 Bombers were signed in for racing events.

The Super Stock class had 46 entries and also saw four heats. Tim Clark won heat one over Kevin Jones and Bret Ezzo. Lee Hobbs took heat two over Mike Fields and Steve Hunt. The 3rd heat went to Greg Kendall over Mel Bigham and Donnie Wilson, with the 4th heat going to Todd Gilpin over Brad Cummings and Terry Dishong.
