Mother Nature Wins Second in a Row at Brownstown; Jackson 100 Next Weekend on August 11 and 12.

August 5- Persistant rain showers that started just as time trial qualifications were being completed forced track promoter Richard Bane to have to cancel the racing program on Bob Poynter Chevy/Olds Night. There were 30 Late Models on hand, with Ernie Barrow setting fast time on the sticky fast surface at 14.871 seconds before the rains came and spoiled what was shaping up to be a fantastic final tune-up for the Jackson 100. Also in attendance for the evening were 37 Indiana Super Stockers and 58 Bombers.

Racing action will continue this weekend as Brownstown Speedway presents the 21st Annual Jackson 100 presented by Hoosier Parts of Seymour. There will be THREE Late Model features on Friday night, August 11, as part of the return of the "Night Before the Jackson". The April 1 rainout of Late Model consies and feature have now been added to the program that already includes a $1,500 to win regular show, plus a special non-winners feature for the fastest 18 qualifiers that have never won a feature at Brownstown, along with extra money for the UMP Modifieds. Then on Saturday, August 12, the 21st Annual Jackson 100 takes place with a complete show of heats, consies, and the 100 lap Late Model feature paying $10,000 to win and $1,000 to start, along $1,000 and a tray in the form of the Lou Alhbrand Memorial Award for the driver that passes the most cars during the Jackson 100. Also, on the card will be a complete program of Indiana Super Stocks and they will also have an increased purse.
