Rusty Schlenk Gets First Brownstown Victory.
Cawood, Gilpin, Norman Kickoff 2010 Season With Wins.

Joe Janowski and Cory Mahoney made up the front row for the 25 Lap UMP Late Model main, with Mahoney leading Janowski and Rusty Schlenk to the line to complete lap one. A battle began to wage for second on lap three between Schlenk and Janowski, with Schlenk nabbing the position. Behind them, on lap five, Tim Rivers moved around Mike Bores for the fifth position. The first caution of the event flew on lap five, as Kerry Mathew spun off the backstretch. On the restart, Rohn Moon flew around Janowski to take third coming to the line. Janowski, however, returned the favor on Moon to retake the third spot on lap seven. Behind them, Tyler Allen moved around Bores and Rivers to take fifth. Back up front, on lap 10, Schlenk turned the heat up on Mahoney and moved to within a car length. Schlenk then moved alongside Mahoney to battle for the lead on lap 11. At the halfway mark, it was Mahoney, Schlenk, Janowski, Moon, and Bores completing the top five. Just past the halfway mark, Tim Prince brought out the yellow, spinning on the backstretch. On the ensuing restart, Moon used the outside line on the Delaware double file restart to move back around Janowski for third on lap 12. Two cautions slowed the event on laps 15 and 16. Both for Chip Stitsworth. The lap 16 restart was brought back due to a spin by Bores in turn four. When racing resumed on lap 16, Schlenk used the bottom groove to work alongside of Mahoney for the lead. On lap 18, Schlenk took the lead away from Mahoney coming down the frontstretch. Behind that battle, Janowski moved back around Moon for the third position with five laps to go. Up front, however, Schlenk cruised to the victory in his Micro Armor/Time Out Bar & Grill/Main & Company/C.J. Rayburn/Kerscher Engines/Aumachs Home Care/VP Fuels/KB Carbs/AccuCore Shock Dynos #91 Entry. The win marked Schlenk's first career victory at Brownstown Speedway. Completing the top five were Mahoney, Janowski, Moon, and Steve Barnett.

Tyler Cain and Jimmy Cummings led the field to the green in the 20 lap UMP Super Stock main event, with Cain leading the first circuit. Cummings had to contend with Mike Cawood on lap two, as the duo battled side by side for second. Cawood took the spot on lap three, leaving Cummings to battle with Jeremy Hines. Hines took the third spot away from Cummings on lap five. Back up front, Cawood and Cain dueled door to door for the lead, with Cawood officially leading lap seven. Cain fought back to lead lap eight by about a quarter car length. That lead lasted but one lap, as Cawood took the lead back from Cain on lap nine. At the halfway point the top five were Cawood, Cain, Hines, Cummings, and Jay Deckard. Cawood started to open up a bit of an advantage over Cain before the caution flew on lap 15 for Jerry Adams who had spun in turn one. Cawood led the field to the restart, as Cain saw Hines move by him for second on lap 16. Hines made a valiant effort to grab the victory from Cawood, but Cawood was able to hold him off at the checkers. The win was Cawood's first ever at Brownstown in his Cawood Racing/Taylor Racing/Hair by Doris/Steve Martin Racing Engines/Ross Body Shop sponsored #12 machine. Completing the top five were Hines, Cain, Deckard, and Chris Hillman.

Matt Boknecht and Devin Gilpin made up the front row for the 20 lap UMP Modified main. The original start had to be brought back due to a seven car accident in turn two on the opening lap. On the restart, Gilpin led the field around to complete lap one. The first lap would be the only lap completed, as Kent Robinson and Tony Blair spun on the frontstretch before lap two could be finished. Matt Bex took second away from Boknecht on the restart, and held the position until lap four, when Boknecht slid back around him for the spot. By lap seven, Gilpin had opened up a half straightaway lead over Boknecht and the rest of the field. Behind Gilpin and Boknecht, Richie Lex took the third spot away from Bex on lap 8. At the halfway mark, the caution flew for Kyle Schornick, who was unable to get his mount safely into the infield. From laps 2 through 10, Kent Robinson, who had restarted on the tail had moved into the top five. When racing resumed Robinson moved to third, around Lex on lap 11. Up front, Gilpin motored out to another half straight lead over Boknecht. With five laps to go, Robinson moved alongside of Boknecht to battle for the runner up position. Robinson was able to get the spot on lap 17. Second was the best Robinson could muster, as Gilpin easily took the win in his Dasco Race Supply/Impressive Race Cars/Mike Shell Racing Engines/Landrum Springs/Wildside Race Graphics #1G. Robinson, Boknecht, Steve Godsey, and Lex completed the top five.

The Hornet main event started with David Waggoner Jr. and Jeremy Smith on the front row, with Smith leading the first lap. Waggoner settled in second behind Smith as the field completed lap two. A six car battle for positions second through seventh began to take place behind Smith. After that battle was all said and done, Brad Ray moved to second, Wes Ray moved to third, with Waggoner moving back to fourth by lap five. The car on the move was Brandon Norman, who had started 14th on the grid, and had moved up to third on lap seven. Debris on the backstretch brought out the yellow on lap eight, bunching up the field. On the restart, Norman shot around both Brad Ray and Smith for the lead on lap nine. Another caution for debris flew on lap 10. When racing resumed, disaster struck the second place car of Smith, as he slowed and pulled off the track. With two laps to go, Ray moved into battle Norman for the lead, but was not able to make the pass. Norman held on for his first ever win at Brownstown Speedway. Completing the top five were Brad Ray, Wes Ray, Josh Turner, and Waggoner.
